Sketches

Before going to a new item, I dug a few sketches from my Moleskine.

Mitsubishi and two other Japanese firms invented this foliage plant-like solar cell module by using organic thin-film solar cells. I thought it would be nice if there’s something good to look at and environmentally friendly in your room like this.

Lifenote Personal Tablet

Lifenote Personal Tablet (PT)

Now I can tell one of the announcements I mentioned at the end of 2008.

Lifenote is an innovative technology development company based in Los Angeles, California. The company was founded in 2008 by two UCLA graduates who dreamed of a world free from paper clutter, and a learning environment that is more intuitive, productive, and collaborative.
They approached me for help in 3D molding last year, and I helped out mainly with the 3D mock designs, initial modeling and rendering of the Lifenote Personal Tablet, which is specialized for digital writing and viewing electronic documents. They were in CES 2009 to introduce this tablet as well as other great products, so some of you who visited CES might have known it already.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun creating mock designs of a REAL gadget. I hope I can do it again.

Swing this many times and you get some electricity to charge your iPhone. This time, its motion censor sends your form data to your iPhone so that you can see your own golf swing animated.

Time-Telling Vibration

This is the mobile phone version of “Touch ‘n’ Know The Time”. Many people use their mobile phones as alarm clocks (including myself), so this might be a little help.

In short, you squeeze the phone and it vibrates for a second. The more “vigorously” it moves, the sooner it is until the set time. So you can FEEL how much more you can sleep without opening your eyes to check what time it is. Oh how lazy we can be!

Pressure on both flanks activates the time-checking vibration for a few seconds.

The vibration interval and strength vary according to how much time left until the set time.

Oh, this phone? Yeah I thought you’d ask.
If you are ever able to completely customize your mobile phone on a website or something when ordering one, I’ll definitely make mine something like this. Does it remind you of one brand?

Time-Telling Vibration

By the way, I heard my ideas (fireworks projection and handgrip charger) were introduced in a British TV “Richard & Judy” and a Colombian newspaper “El Tiempo”. Is there a way I can take a look at them???
